I specialize in original, one-of-a-kind (OOAK) fantasy sculpture and wearable art. My body of work includes masks, props and mythical beasts - especially dragons .
I started making papier mache creations in highschool. At the time I was inspired by Sheila McGraw's book 'Paper Mache Today' and 'The Simple Screamer' by Dan Reeder. I also wanted to take my love of drawing dragons and fantasy creatures to the next level; bringing them to life 3-dimensionally. Papier mache presented itself as the perfect medium for this, being immediately accessible and versatile. Wire, masking tape, newspaper and white glue were the staple ingredients for my work back then and still are at times.
What I especially love about papier mache is that fancy materials and tools - while they may enhance the process - are not absolute requirements to achieve amazing results.
